The HTC Desire, like any new smart phone, should really be the greatest thing out there. But it does have some direct competition, including the Nexus One. A big question is whether the Desire really lives up to its name. The Desire has a 3.7 inch AMOLED display screen that is made to display great colors and picture. This makes it good to search the web or watch videos on this phone.
HTC Desire
It was designed for keeping up on what's going on and for being on the internet. It features a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor that most users are very excited about. This helps to keep the phone responsive and user friendly as you open and employ various applications. Something that users seem to like so far is how personalized you can make the HTC Desire. There are widgets you can find to organize the applications on the phone, and you can make the home screen one of a kind to suit your needs. If you wish to keep up with news, there is a specific application you can find that will feed blogs, networks, and headlines to your phone according to your interests.

This phone also allows you to keep up with people since it is integrated with social networking sites. The People widget makes it simplallows you to access groups of people on your phone in order to call, email, or get in contact in other ways. Friend Stream is an application you can get that makes keeping track of all your friends across different networking sites a cinch. One difference the HTC Desire has over its main competition is that it has physical buttons along the bottom instead of touch sensitive keys. This is something that users have enjoyed since the touch sensitive keys sometimes miss commands and you can't always know if you actually hit them. The Desire also has a clickable optical track-pad that users do seem to like.

The HTC Desire does not have a secondary noise cancelling microphone unlike the Google Nexus One. People that use Google Nexus One have commented on this creating a marked difference in how calls sound. But even without this the HTC Desire is hailed for really having good call quality.

One thing that people have mentioned that they don't much like is how the back of the phone must be pulled open so that you can access the micro SD card. But in all reality this isn't any different from many popular smart phones. The sound quality on both speakers is reported to be very good. Nobody seems to have any issues about this feature of the phone, although the hands free system has not won anyone over. The reason being the sound quality of it just isn't great, and the earpieces don't fit many people. But the life of the battery is very similar to the competition. In fact when playing mp3 files almost continually with some random web surfing thrown in, the phone will last a good 6 hours. Needless to say more time can be gotten with less use.

All in all there are very little complaints to be found with the HTC Desire. People appear to like it very well and believe that it will deliver their wants and be very durable. Is it superior to the Google Nexus One? To be truthful there isn't much to choose between them except perhaps the secondary noise cancelling microphone on the Nexus One which some say makes the sound superior. However you could choose merely based on which model you like the look of more. Both the Google Nexus One and the HTC DESIRE are both fantastic smart phones that anyone would love to own.
