With its sleek and technologically innovative design, Apple has claimed that this MacBook MC516LL/A13.3-Inch Laptop is not only speediest but technically able laptop in today’s market. Can an examination of Apple’s gorgeous new design really prove Apple’s bold statement is correct? The laptop certainly does appear to be a huge contender for the king of laptops with its power, speed and capability to support graphically intense computer games such as Call Of Duty. Its gorgeously sleek design and ability to surf the world wide web undoubtedly shove this laptop in to the higher echelons of the laptop table.

The MacBook MC516LL/A design is similar to other Apple laptops; with its curves and sleek shape, the laptop itself is a joy to behold. This is complemented further with what has seemingly become Apple’s trademark colour. With Apple, white is certainly the new black and the laptop is all the more unique looking for it. However, it is all well and being boasting of the laptop’s design and appearance, but what can this laptop actually do that stands it apart from others on the market? 3D games such as Call Of Duty 4 and Unreal Tournament can be played without problem and to the highest efficiency; speed and power are not going to be a problem here with Apple’s implementation of 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duos CPU, the 2 gig of 1066MHz DDR3 Ram and NVIDIA 320M graphics with 256Mb of DDR3 memory. Other software including movie making programmes and Photoshop can be run just as easily.

Concerns for the environment have also made the MacBook MC516LL/A a popular choice for people deciding which laptop to invest in. The hardware used by Apple is energy efficient and, perhaps more importantly, no toxic chemicals of any kind have been used in its manufacture. Furthermore, Apple can be seen to have made a step up from rivals such as Windows in regard to battery life. The longer lasting ability of the Apple Macbook is an undeniably huge advantage and, in gaining a step towards dominating the laptop market, will be crucially important in the future.

It does seem however, that Apple may still be able to make a few small improvements despite having seemingly gone all out to impress. With the norm in today’s market including the use of a 500GB hard drive, it is slightly disappointing to see the Apple MacBook using only a 250GB hard drive. One other niggling problem and possible obstacle is the price of the Apple’s product. Compared with, say, Windows’ laptops, the Apple Macbook is available to buyers at a higher price. The superior technical ability may ultimately account for this but may prove a stumbling block for many people. If the budget is there for an Apple Macbook, there are certainly enough advantages to recommend the MacBook MC516LL/A.
